Shrimp and prawn exports showed moderate recovery in the final quarter, supported by new processing
facilities in Khulna and Chattogram. The government reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable aquaculture
under the âVision 2021â development plan, emphasizing innovation, certification, and farmer training.
Industry observers described 2017 as a year of transition and modernizationâwith Bangladeshâs fisheries
moving toward higher efficiency, stricter quality standards, and greater global competitiveness.
